Connection is our midweek time to enjoy a drop-in, home style meal together and reconnect at Asbury. Nursery is provided, and there are classes for all ages. Bring a friend or a neighbor and join us from 5:15pm -7:15pm.

The “Shema” is one of the most important commandments for the Jewish people, and the Gospels record Jesus teaching this as one of the two greatest commandments. What does this teaching mean for Christians? Let’s explore these implications together.

A 5-week class exploring why Jesus taught in stories, or allegories, and what His disciples understood then, and now, about what they mean.
Seekers Classroom / August 28th – September 25th
Therapeutic Worship with Dr. Dudley Chewning
Therapeutic worship or toning your Vagus nerve developed and led by Dr. Dudley Chewning, trauma recovery therapist. Religion has accomplished something that science has recently discovered as being therapeutic, especially for anxiety/stress. We’ll look at the importance of faith and trust, incorporating music, prayer and more. Class size will be limited.

Elijah: Spiritual Stamina in Every Season : A Women's Study with Rev. Susan Dungan
In this six-week study grounded in 1 and 2 Kings, you will examine the life of the prophet Elijah, an ordinary man who did extraordinary things for God in the midst of the highs and lows of life. Learn some of the spiritual stamina secrets that helped him hold on and persevere in faith, including practical habits related to: prayer, choices, soul care, surrender, mentoring, and legacy.

Parenting Class with Jennifer Nawas, M.S., M.A., LPC
This parenting class will be divided into 4 sections: sleeping; eating; playing; and discipline. It will be taught by Jennifer Nawas who has spent the past 26 years working in the areas of child development and family relations. She is currently a licensed therapist working with individuals and families. The class will be informal with a time for questions at the beginning of each class period.

Decoding Doxology with Rev. Matt Rawle
What is Christian worship anyway? We think we know what worship looks like, but are we sure? Why do we worship the way we do? Did you know that eating fish used to be part of the communion service? Join Rev Matt Rawle for a 5-week exploration of the essence, history, and the fun of Christian worship.

Enneagram Relationships with Sarah Duet
One the most valuable benefits of Enneagram work is the way it can help to improve and heal our relationships. In this workshop we explore the relationship patterns, tendencies, gifts, and challenges for each of the 9 types and how they interact with one another.

30 minutes of Kids Connect and 30 minutes of Connection Children's Choir
Youth Connect (6th-12th grades)
Diving Deep class offers an opportunity for students to dig deeper into the word while also discussing daily joys and concerns.
Crafts class allows students to get in touch with their creative side by doing out of the box projects.
Sports class is a great way to build connections through friendly games and fellowship.
*In addition to our classes, we will offer a mission outreach opportunity each Wednesday around the meal hour. For example: care notes for Bossier Elementary or packing snack bags and more for our local friends in mission.
